Weborama backend upgrade: BigSea

When it comes to digital data business, Weborama has been an important player on the European market and not only for more than 18 years. Next to expanding its reach and growing its team, Weborama has been continuously working on improving its data management processes and tools. The complex linguistic treatment algorithms, own 3rd party database, localized data centers and precise profiling capabilities are features we take pride in and continuously strive to improve. By doing this we can maintain our position on the market and provide smart solutions to the forever changing market demands and challenges. During the last 5 years, the market has witnessed a boom in global data demand and services which lead not only to a more competitive ecosystem but also to new and challenging requests from our clients. To successfully meet these needs and take our service to the next level, our international product team has been working on an upgrade of our data infrastructure and profile. Project name BigSea.

Improvements of BigSea

The improved method and infrastructure allows our algorithms to profile our data in a more detailed and efficient way. This is leading to a significant increase of volume globally. The number of behavioral clusters available in our Data Management Platform is prone to increase as well. Custom clusters creation as a standard feature for advertisers, agencies and publishers is also one of the goals. Next to a more accurate behavioral segmentation, the BigSea infrastructure also brings in a more granular affinity level in profile scoring. From a scale of 1 to 16 we will now be able to score specific interests with an affinity from 1 to 20.

In terms of scalability, the new BigSea infrastrastructure brings in place a new and easier process flow in starting up data projects in countries where we were not present until now. We are looking forward to expanding our data projects in Germany, The Nordics and UK. We are currently in the process of migrating our data assets to the BigSea infrastructure. It is our expectation to be ready and up-to-speed by the end of this year.
